Keeping your ballfields and facility in great condition is something many school districts take great pride in. But, inevitably, there comes a time when upgrades are necessary. At Maroa-Forsyth High School their ballpark was ready for infield and press box renovations, as well as a new backstop netting system. But the netting would need to be at a specific height and integrated into a concrete backstop wall.
We found that customization and collaboration would be key to the project’s success. The Beacon team’s ability to work directly with the district’s structural engineer set the process in motion. It was determined the best solution to meet their goals would be an in-line lift & tension netting system. But to do it right at the height and pole span they wanted for unobstructed views, it would require custom-designed poles and anchor bolt requirements. Integration of the netting system foundations with the poured concrete wall required detailed communication and coordination with the installers. Once the netting was up, finishing touches would come in the form of custom-printed, school-branded wall padding.
