The old net just wasn’t enough.

Barrier Netting System

Winnequah Park & Community Pool | Monona, WI

See that little net just above the trees? Yeah, that wasn’t enough. Not nearly enough.

Errant foul balls were entering the pool area from the baseball and softball fields at Winnequah Park and that was posing a real safety hazard. Beacon’s Barrier Netting was the perfect solution. Typically thought of for protecting cars and parking lots or crossover areas between sports fields, this netting system was perfect for protecting the pool area from foul balls.

After years with the ineffective smaller net, city officials knew they needed to better protect pool patrons. But, in this northern climate, it also needed to be super easy to raise and then take down in the off season.

Beacon’s project team designed a custom 40ft high x 100 ft wide netting system divided into three easy-to-manage nets. Our lifting winch, top pulleys, and support cables make it all happen from the ground without any need for ladders or lifts. The result is an easy-up / easy-down netting system that is much more effective and literally dwarfs the old netting.
