Backstop Wall System

This small town high school in northeastern Wisconsin was looking for a high-quality but affordable backstop wall to enhance their ballfield. It needed to include padding and backstop netting to address player and fan safety concerns. Our integrated Backstop Wall System with Woodless Pads and In-Line Backstop Netting proved to be the perfect solution for Random Lake.

The backstop wall system is designed to fully incorporate both the lightweight pads and backstop netting. And, the padding and netting can be easily removed for off-season storage — especially important in northern climates — which saves the high school wear & tear on their pads and nets, extending the life of both. Slide over post brackets…

After the installation of netting uprights and wall posts, the wall’s slide over post brackets were added over the wall posts. Pressure treated wood planks were mounted using our custom hardware.

Stainless steel mounting clips…

The next step for the backstop wall was to attach the stainless steel mounting clips and the Velcro wall plate in preparation for adding the Woodless Backstop Pads.

Add the pads…

Adding the woodless pads was next. Full-length support battens on the back hang on the mounting brackets and the bottom edge of the pads secure to the Velcro wall plates.

Netting anchored with slide-over brackets…

With wall and woodless pads in place, it was time to install the In-line Backstop Netting. The bottom of the net is anchored to the wall with a net cable that runs through the slide-over brackets.

Lifting winch & pulleys…

Before the netting was installed, the lifting winch, top pulleys and support cables were added for easy raising and take down, all from the ground — no ladders.

Raising the nets…

With engineered hardware in place for net support and tensioning, the nets were raised using the winch and pulley system.

Finishing touch…

Finally, the cherry on top. The backside banner was added, covering the back of the backstop wall and providing a clean, finished look to the final wall and netting system. Custom printed graphics can also be added providing a great branding or sponsorship opportunity.
