F.A.Q.
Where could I use a Shade Structure? On your sports fields for over bleachers, over dugouts, or anywhere audience or players are. Can even be used for over playground equipment or parking lots, any outdoor gathering place!
How durable is it?
The structure was designed to withstand 150 mph hurricane force winds and has a 20-year guarantee from the manufacturer. The canopy itself is guaranteed for 10 years from the manufacturer and has passed all Fire Ratings.
How are the Shade Structures anchored?
The standard mounting is in buried concrete footings. Optional surface mount footings available.
What about vandalism?
There are no footholds or climbing rungs on the support posts, and most systems are over 10' high, far out of reach of vandals. Entire canopy replacement is only 15-20% of the total cost of the already economically priced systems. Most damages can be repaired at as low as 5% of cost.
Can the canopy be cleaned?
The canopy is naturally very resistant to dirt and moisture, but over long periods of time the fabric may begin to appear dirty or gray. It can be cleaned with a long bristled mop or brush and non-abrasive pH neutral detergent and luke warm water.
What compares to the Turn-N-Slide fastening system? Since the introduction of the patented Turn-N-Slide in 2003, the competition has been trying to emulate it. But it's in the details where they have problems.
Only the Turn-N-Slide is time-tested, used by countless municipalities nationwide and withstanding major Florida hurricanes such as Katrina and Wilma.
Only the Turn-N-Slide features a completely sealed rafter top to keep out water and debris, ensuring your structure will last for the long haul. This design spreads the load over the strength of the entire rafter, and is why the Turn-N-Slide carries a 10-year warranty. Competing mechanisms feature a slot cut into the top of the structure's rafter which allows water and debris to enter the rafter, potentially leading to corrosion and system failure.

Easy two step canopy removal and re-install
- Use our special vandal-resistant tool to remove access cap.
- Turn the concealed nut using a standard socket wrench. Attachment hook moves backward, releasing the canopy cables. Reverse steps to re-attach.
Compare our system to the competition
Why is it so easy to remove and then re-install for severe weather? Here's why:- Shade Structures use the Turn-N-Slide easy fastening device has an adjustable hook for accurate tensioning each time. Competing structures use a fixed hook which does not move cable binds underneath, making adjustment difficult.
- Shade Structures has an independent cable on each side of the structure that's pre-cut and looped at the factory -- no guesswork for you in the field. Competing structures use a single length cable for the entire perimeter of the structure very difficult to adjust evenly.
- Shade Structures requires no special tools for installing or removing your canopy just a common socket wrench and our supplied vandal-resistant hex key. Competing structures need "come-along" or other winch-type tools to tension cable.
